Privacy

We collect what we need to send you a toothbrush and nothing else. We do not sell your data. We never see your card details.

When you order, we collect your name, email address, delivery address, and what you bought. Shopify collects and processes your payment. Your card number never reaches us and we could not retrieve it if we wanted to.

When you join the email list, we collect your email address and nothing more.

When you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can pick up where we left off.

When you leave a review, we collect your rating, your words, your first name and suburb, and publish them only if you tick the box that says we may.

Your order details are used to pack and post your order, to answer questions about it, and to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.

Your email address is used to send you the launch offer if you signed up for it, and a reminder every eight to twelve weeks that it is time to replace your brush. That is the entire mailing programme. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.

Order records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it. Email list entries are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are deleted.

Email hello@thebarebrush.com.au to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted where we are not legally required to keep it. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you.

As a small sole trader we sit below the turnover threshold at which the Privacy Act 1988 automatically applies. We have written this policy to the standard of the Australian Privacy Principles anyway, because the threshold is not a good reason to handle your information carelessly.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
